Asana

The Asana integration keeps your Success.co To-Dos and Asana tasks in sync, eliminating the need for duplication. Updates flow both ways, so whether you make a change in Success.co or Asana, your tasks stay aligned and your team stays on track.

Before you can start syncing to-dos, you need to complete the setup process. To set up your integration with Asana, go to your integration settings via your company logo > Settings > Integrations.

You will then see the integration options. Click the Enable button next to the Asana option.

You will then be asked to authorize the connection between Success.co and Asana. Click the Connect Asana button.

If you are using Asana regularly you will be automatically logged into your account. Otherwise, you will be asked to log in.

Asana Integration setup

Asana may ask you to confirm. Click yes and you will be redirected back to the integration settings in Success.co.

Please choose which project you wish the to-dos to sync with from the dropdown menu. Click the refresh icon if not all your projects are showing in the list.

Once you select a project, you then need to select which section to sync todos to. Again if all your sections are not showing please click the refresh icon.

Once you're happy with the settings click the Finished button.

You will then see the green enabled icon against the Asana integration showing the setup is complete.

Asana is enabled

On your to-dos you will now see an Asana icon when in the list view and in the right-hand sidebar when inside the to-do. Next to the Asana icon you will see the status of the sync, a link to the to-do in Asana, and a manual re-sync button.

  1. Add a Priority column in your Asana board.

    • What to do: Create a column named "Priority" so we can sync priority values.

  2. Name your priorities consistently.

    • What to do: Use simple priority names like High, Medium, Low. Custom names may not sync correctly.

  3. Set the correct team before creating a To-Do.

    • What to do: Choose the team that should own the To-Do, then create the To-Do.

    • Why: If you change the assigned team later, the task will stay in the original Asana project and will not move automatically.

  4. Confirm users exist and have access in Asana.

    • What to do: Make sure the person you assign has an Asana account and access to the destination project.

    • Why: If a user is not found we will keep the existing assignment, and if they lack project access Asana will refuse the sync.

  5. Use manual sync to test assignments.

    • What to do: After assigning a user, run a manual sync to confirm the task accepts the assignment in Asana.
