V/TO®

The Vision/Traction Organizer (V/TO®) helps you clearly define your company’s vision and turn it into actionable steps. It captures your long-term goals, core values, marketing strategy, and key priorities in one place so your entire team can stay focused and aligned. The V/TO® is designed to be simple to use and easy to update as your business grows.

You can access the V/TO in the sidebar under Traction.

Select the Team from the Team dropdown to choose which V/TO to view.

The Vision section helps your team define where you are going and how you will get there. It captures your long-term goals, core values, and the strategies that guide your decisions.

  • To add entries to your vision, hover over the section you want to update > click the Edit icon and add your information.

  • At the top of each V/TO entry window in the Leadership team, there is a toggle named "USE WITH ALL TEAMS." Turn it on if you want the entry to apply to all other teams as well, or leave it off if you only want it for the Leadership team.

  • Once you have finished entering the details, click Finish to save your entries.

Core Values

  1. In the pop-up window, enter the Core Value name and its description. Document your company’s guiding principles

  2. Below the name and description fields, click the "Add" button if you want to enter more Core Values.

Core Focus

Click on the "Add description" box to enter your Purpose, Cause, Passion, and Niche. Define the core reason your organization exists and the unique value you bring to the world. This is what drives your team and sets you apart in your industry.

10-year target™

Set a clear long-term target that shows where you want your organization to be in 10 years. This serves as your big-picture destination and helps align your team’s efforts. Enter your 10-year target in the "Add description" box.

Marketing Strategy

  1. Define your target market, 3 Uniques, proven process, and guarantee.

  2. For 3 Uniques, enter the name of each unique and its description.

  3. You can also click the Add button under 3 Uniques to add more entries. You can only add a maximum of 3 entries in line with EOS guidance.

  4. You can choose to show or hide the proven process and guarantee by toggling the switch next to each option on or off.

  5. You can also add attachments by clicking the Add attachment button.

3-year picture™

Describe what your company looks like three years from now.

  1. Set a future date for your three-year vision.

  2. Add your Revenue, Profit, and Measurables by clicking the corresponding Add buttons and entering both the description and value.

  3. Under What does it look like?, click Add bullet point to describe key details of your envisioned future state.

The Traction section of your Vision/Traction Organizer® helps you break down your vision into actionable steps. It’s where you set your Rocks, track progress on key goals, and ensure your team stays aligned and accountable to achieving results.

Select the Team from the Team dropdown to choose which V/TO Traction to view.

1-year plan

The 1-Year Plan outlines your organization’s key priorities, measurable targets, and major goals for the next 12 months. It serves as a bridge between your long-term vision and your short-term actions, helping the team stay focused and aligned.

  1. Select the Future date for your plan from the dropdown calendar.

  2. Under Revenue, click + Add revenue to enter a description and target value.

    • Click the three-dot icon to access the option to delete an entry.

  3. Under Profit, click + Add profit to enter a description and target value.

    • Click the three-dot icon to access the option to delete an entry.

4. In Measurables, click + Add measurable.

  • You will be given two options: Add an existing measurable or Create and add new measurable.

  • When selecting Add an Existing Measurable, you can choose from Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually existing measurables from your Scorecard. You can search for a measurable using the search bar.

  • After selecting your preferred measurable, click the Add button to include it.

  • If you select to Create and Add New Measurable, you will see a popup where you can add the title, an optional description, choose the type of measurable and set the goal. On the right hand side you can select if the measurable is weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually, assign it to a team and give it an owner.

  • You can also add a Measurable to multiple teams by clicking the "Add Team" button, and selecting the teams from the dropdown.

  • The new measurable you have created will also be displayed in your Scorecard.

Once you added all your measurables, you can also select the 3-dot icon if you wish to edit or delete an added measurable.

5. In Adding Goals of the Year, simply click on "Add goal".

A pop-up window will appear where you can enter the goal’s title and description. You will also have the option to attach a file if needed by selecting the "Add" button under attachment.

This section includes a checkbox to mark or track completed goals and a three-dot icon next to each issue, click the icon to view the available options:

  • Edit – Opens the goal details so you can update its information.

  • Make it an issue – Creates a new issue in the Issues list based on this goal.

  • Add a to-do – Creates a to-do item linked about this goal.

  • Add a rock – Creates a rock about this goal for tracking progress.

  • Delete – Permanently removes the goal from the list.

Rocks

The Rocks section helps you define and track the most important priorities for the quarter. These are the key objectives your team commits to achieving within the next 90 days.

  1. Select the Future date for your plan from the dropdown calendar.

  2. Under Revenue, click + Add revenue to enter a description and target value.

    • Click the three-dot icon to access the option to delete an entry.

  3. Under Profit, click + Add profit to enter a description and target value.

    • Click the three-dot icon to access the option to delete an entry.

4. In Measurables, click + Add measurable.

  • You will be given two options: Add an existing measurable or Create and add new measurable.

  • When selecting Add an Existing Measurable, you can choose from Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annually existing measurables. You can search for a measurable using the search bar.

  • After selecting your preferred measurable, click the Add button to include it.

  • If you select to Create and Add New Measurable, you will see a popup where you can add the title, an optional description, choose the type of measurable and set the goal. On the right hand side you can select if the measurable is weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually, assign it to a team and give it an owner.

  • You can also add a Measurable to multiple teams by turning on the "Report on Multiple Teams" switch, clicking the "Add Team" button, and selecting the teams from the dropdown.

You can also select the 3-dot icon if you wish to EDIT or DELETE a measurable.

In adding Rocks for the quarter, click on the "Add rock" button.

  • You will then see a popup where you can complete the rock title, description, add a due date, select whether it is a company rock or individual rock, select a team, the owner of the rock and the status (off-track, on-track, complete).

  • The due date will automatically populate as the date for the end of the quarter. This can be edited to any date you choose using the calendar icon.

  • You can also add a Rock to multiple teams by turning on the "Assign to Multiple Teams" switch, clicking the "Add Team" button, and selecting the teams from the dropdown to which you want to assign the Rock.


Issue list

Issues List is where you capture, organize, and track the most important problems, challenges, or opportunities your team needs to address. This section serves as a central place to document all issues that may be affecting your company’s progress, ensuring nothing gets lost or forgotten.

When selecting the Issues List, a pop-up window will appear displaying a list of long term issues along with their priority, title, and owner.

Any Long term issues created outside the V/TO will be shown in your V/TO issues list.

If you want to add a new issue, click on the "+ Add issue" button.

Once you click "Add issue", a popup will appear where you can:

  • Add a title and description of the issue

  • In the V/TO the issues default to Long term (at the top of the popup).

  • Assign the team the issue belongs to

  • Set the owner (the person responsible for solving or addressing the issue)

  • Optionally select a priority level

  • Add files

You can also update the issue status any time between Not solved and Solved.

There's also a three-dot icon next to each issue, click the icon to view the available options:

  • Edit – Opens the issue details so you can update its information.

  • Make short-term – Set the issue from long-term to a short-term issue.

  • Create Rock – Converts the issue into a Rock for tracking in the current quarter.

  • Create To-Do – Creates a To-Do item about the issue.

  • Make a Copy – Duplicates the issue.

  • Delete – Permanently removes the issue from the list.

On the right-hand side of the V/TO, you will find the manage section button that allow you to customize and manage the layout.

Click the "Manage Sections" button. In the pop-up window, you can:

  • View all Visible Sections with their current title and assigned page.

  • Change the page assignment by selecting either Vision or Traction from the dropdown in the Page column.

  • Hide or show a section using the visibility icon in the Options column.

  • Add a new section by clicking "Add secondary marketing strategy" or "+ Add custom section".

  • Remove custom sections or secondary marketing strategy clicking on the "Trashcan" icon next to the visibility icon.

  • Once you’re done making changes, click "Finished" to save your updates.

The Vision History tool lets you track and manage different versions of your V/TO document.

Click the Vision history button at the top right of the page.

In the dropdown menu, you can:

  • Add version – Create and save a new version of your Vision document. Add the version name and click on the "+Add" button to save it. Note that the newly added vision can be viewed in the Show Vision History option.

  • Show all versions – When you select Show all versions from the Vision History menu, a pop-up window will display all saved versions of your Vision document.

The table includes the following columns:

  1. Version Name – The title of the saved version.

  2. User – The name of the user who created the version.

  3. Created At – The date and time the version was saved.

  4. Options – Actions you can take for each version:

    • Edit – Open and modify the version.

    • Preview – View the version without making changes.

    • Delete – Remove the version from the list.

Use this feature to manage, review, or clean up your saved Vision document versions.

In the Tools section, you will find a Print icon.

  • Preview and Download as PDF
    Click the Print icon to open a pop-up window showing a PDF preview of your V/TO. In the upper right-hand corner of this preview, you can also click the Download icon to save your V/TO as a PDF file.

  • Another Print icon is also available next to download. Clicking it will open the standard print dialog window, where you can choose settings such as Destination, Color, Pages, Paper size, Pages per sheet, and Scale.

  • At the bottom, click Print to proceed or Cancel to close the window without printing
