Director of Marketing
📍 Boston area strongly preferred, remote across North America considered for the right person
📃 Reports to: CEO
🧑🤝🧑 Team: Leadership. One marketing manager reports to you today, and you will grow the team as we expand
💡 Experience: 7+ years in marketing, including B2B SaaS
⏰ Commitment: Full time
💰 Salary range: $145,000 to $175,000 base, depending on experience. This reflects Boston market rates, adjusted for local market where a remote candidate is based elsewhere in North America
👋 Hey there. We're Success.co.
We make EOS® software without the bloat. A fast, intuitive platform for companies running the Entrepreneurial Operating System, officially licensed by EOS Worldwide. Founded by Philipp Maucher and Peter Coppinger, who previously built Teamwork.com.
Marketing today runs lean. One marketing manager, founders who still get their hands dirty, and a media program that already works. What we don't have is someone steering the ship.
That's where you come in.
🚀 The Role
You will build our marketing function from here, reporting straight to the CEO. The first job is brand, community, and events. EOS runs on relationships, and we win when Implementers and the business owners they serve already know us and already trust us.
Over time, the job grows. You will help us figure out how to reach the 250,000+ businesses running on EOS worldwide, well beyond our current channels. You'll manage one marketer now, and build the team out as the results justify it.
This role is based in the Boston area, with regular travel to conferences and community events across the US. We'll consider remote across the rest of North America for the right person.
🧩 What you'll be doing
Strategy and brand
Set the marketing strategy. Decide what matters, plan around it, and prioritize ruthlessly. Start with the audience, not the org chart, and let customer data steer the plan.
Shape the brand. Work with leadership to sharpen the company story, then hold every touchpoint to a high bar. If it has our name on it, it should look and read like we meant it.
Community and events (the near term focus)
Own events end to end. Conferences, sponsorships, community gatherings. You plan them, you run them, you show up.
Build the community. Turn a group of people who already like our product into a group of people who talk about it, unprompted, to their peers.
Content and product marketing
Run the content calendar. Including The Practice Builder newsletter and podcast. Use modern tools to produce more without letting the quality slip.
Know the audience cold. Sharpen positioning and messaging so the product's benefits are obvious in one read, not five.
Growth and partnerships
Launch and optimize campaigns across channels. Use modern tools and AI to run targeted programs without needing a team of ten to do it.
Build ecosystem and customer relationships that move us toward our goals.
Team and operations
Coach and grow the team. Develop the marketing manager already in place, plan the next hires, and build a team that works across disciplines and uses AI well.
Build the tech stack. Ours isn't fully built out yet. Figure out what works, then scale it.
Own the budget and the scoreboard. Report on what's working, and be equally clear about what isn't.
💡 You’re probably someone who…
Has 7+ years in marketing, including B2B SaaS
Was one of the first marketers somewhere. Either built a function from scratch, or was the right hand to a strong marketing leader at a fast growing startup
Built an owned audience (newsletter, podcast, or social) and can point to what it converted to, not just how big it got
Has owned an events program and can show the revenue it produced, not just the attendance
Is comfortable being a face of the brand. On stage, on camera, on LinkedIn
Is broad across marketing, with real depth in at least two of: brand and content, community and events, product marketing
Has experience hiring and managing marketers, contractors, and agencies
Is fluent in modern tools and AI for content, campaigns, and data, and able to teach a team to use them too
Knows scrappy. We're still early, and the org chart won't do the work for you
Is genuinely motivated by our story, not just the paycheck
❤️ Why you’ll love it here
Real ownership. You’re not inheriting a playbook. You’re helping build one. Marketing at Success.co is yours to help shape.
Direct impact. Your work directly affects revenue, and retention. No layers of bureaucracy between you and results.
A product people love. Seriously. Our customers send us thank you notes. That makes your job a lot more fun.
Remote first culture. We’ve been doing this since day one. Async by default, sync when it matters.
Room to grow. As the company scales, this role grows with it.
Work with the CEO. Philipp is hands on, cares deeply about customers, and will give you the context and support you need to succeed.
